Research Interests:
Dr. Chen's research interests and experience have focused on dynamics and numerical modeling of surface and shallow subsurface hydrological processes and associated geomorphological, environmental and ecological processes, which include but are not limited to: rainfall-infiltration-runoff and erosion-sedimentation processes; river ecohydraulics and transport of substances such as sediment, nutrients and contaminants; hydrological and ecological processes in arid environments; integrated surface-subsurface water resources.
