Research Group

Ecological Effects of Environmental Change, EEEC

http://www.eeec.net.cn/

Our research group primarily employs field-based in-situ observation, and controlled experiments to simulate environmental changes. We utilize advanced techniques, including Open Top Chambers (OTCs) and Free-Air Carbon Dioxide Enrichment platforms (FACE), as primary tools for our investigations. We investigate the combined impacts of air pollution and climate change factors (elevated surface O3 and CO2, warming, aerosols, etc.) on the ecological function of agricultural ecosystems.

Our focus lies on exploring the compound effects on plants (photosynthetic physiology, plant water physiology, etc.), soil (key microorganisms mediating carbon and nitrogen transformations, soil characteristics), plant-soil interfaces, soil-atmosphere interfaces, and response and adaption of ecosystem-scale carbon and nitrogen cycling processes under environmental changes.
