Prof. Dongsheng Geng received his first doctorate degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China in 2007 and his second doctorate degree from the University of Western Ontario, Canada in 2013. His research interests focus on investigating the structure-performance relationship of various functional materials for energy conversion and storage, including fuel cells, hydrogen generation, Li/Na-ion batteries, metal-air batteries, CO₂ reduction, etc. by combining advanced microscopic and spectroscopic techniques. He has published more than 130 journal papers, 2 books, 3 book chapters, and holds 1 US patent and 6 Chinese patents. Last 5 years, more than 50 of his journal publications appeared in top journals of his fields, such as Nature Commun., Energy Environ. Sci., Mater. Today, ACS Nano, etc. His total citations are over 12,627 times (Google Scholar 2025), h-index (2025) is 53 and i10-index (2025) is 104. Prof. Geng is ranked in Top 2% world’s scientists for career listing and single year listing from Stanford University. He was also in the list of Highly Cited Researchers in the field of Cross-Field, 2018 from Clarivate Analytics.
