科研方向
主要从事热带海气相互作用和ENSO机理及预测方面的研究,从 ENSO动力诊断、理论分析到预报应用方向开展一系列创新研究:
(1) 动力诊断:系统性阐述ENSO发展过程中的关键因子,揭示了多时间尺度相互作用的关键作用,为解释ENSO快速衰减过程提供了新的视角;
(2) 理论分析:构建了解析ENSO季节性的理论框架,揭示了海温增长率的季节性变化在锁相现象中的核心作用,提出了基于动力过程评估模式锁相偏差的新方法;
(3) 预报应用:阐明了ENSO预报相关的关键热带和热带外前期信号的贡献,构建基于ENSO动力学物理框架的预报模型,已被应用于美国气候预报中心和中国国家气候中心的ENSO预测业务中。
