Professor Liu is broadly interested in integrating theoretical methods with real-world applications. He welcomes students who are interested in management decision-making, energy systems optimization, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence methods, and related interdisciplinary research topics. His group encourages students to develop research directions based on their own interests and provides training and support in research methods, academic writing, scholarly communication, and career development.

He currently serves as an associate editor or guest editor for several international academic journals and has been actively involved in the organization and review of international academic conferences.

He has supervised and co-supervised more than 20 master’s and doctoral students, five of whom have received the National Graduate Scholarship. His graduates have joined major enterprises and institutions such as the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Huawei, ZTE, SAIC Motor, and Power Construction Corporation of China, while some have continued their studies at universities in the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Professor Liu is currently recruiting master’s and doctoral students in Management Science and Engineering and Emergency Management. Students with interests in related research areas, enthusiasm for learning, and research potential are welcome to contact him by email. Students do not need to have a fully developed research topic before reaching out; preliminary discussions are also welcome.

Interested students may include a CV, undergraduate and/or master’s transcripts, a representative paper or writing sample, and proof of English proficiency when contacting him. If a formal publication is not yet available, a course paper, thesis excerpt, research proposal, or other writing sample that demonstrates research potential is also welcome.
