Wei Hu
Male, Ph.D., Han ethnicity, originally from Ordos, Inner Mongolia.

Wei Hu is currently with the School of Artificial Intelligence (Future Technology School), Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, affiliated with the Department of Big Data and Data Science and the Data Science & Intelligent Equipment Research Center.

He received his Ph.D. degree in October 2024 from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (Computational Engineering & Visualization Laboratory). He obtained his M.Sc. degree in June 2020 from Nanyang Technological University, and his B.Eng. degree in July 2019 from Central South University, China.

His main research interests include deep learning, digital twin, time-series forecasting, social network analysis, fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance, and cross-disciplinary applications of digital twin and artificial intelligence.

To date, he has published more than ten high-quality papers in prestigious journals and conferences, with six as first author or corresponding author. His works have appeared in top journals such as Energy & Buildings and Journal of Building Engineering. His research has been cited over one hundred times on Google Scholar, and he received the Best Paper Award from the journal Buildings in 2022.

Dr. Hu has recently been invited to serve as the Workshop Chair for “Intelligent Perception and Analytical Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Big Data” at the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Big Data and Data Mining (IEEE BDDM 2025). Submissions and participation are warmly welcomed.

Recruitment Information

Dr. Hu welcomes motivated students interested in deep learning, time-series forecasting, and related research directions to join his group. The team maintains close collaborations with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in both publications and research projects.
